On October 31, 2024, ASIFA-South celebrated our annual International Animation Day (IAD) celebration at the Kennesaw State University auditorium. With a full house of around 140 enthusiastic attendees, the event was a vibrant showcase of animated shorts curated from ASIFA chapters around the globe, while animation from our chapter was shown in other chapter's screening.
The festivities kicked off with an inspiring introduction from our Board of Directors member, Fatimah Abdullah, who shared the fascinating history of International Animation Day.
After the screening, the fun continued with a lively costume party! Attendees donned creative outfits, with standout winners like a handmade moving alien costume stole the show, alongside other fantastic entries like Chicken Little and a little tiger costume, Scream, and an honorable mention went to the impressive Shadow Sonic.
The celebration concluded with a mixer, allowing guests to network and share their love for animation over Halloween-themed snacks. The atmosphere was buzzing with creativity and camaraderie, making it the perfect way to wrap up ASIFA-South’s events for the year.
Overall, this year's International Animation Day was a spectacular celebration of creativity, storytelling, and community, leaving everyone excited for what’s to come in the world of animation. This year, ASIFA-South concludes with over 2500+ hours of volunteer hours! Thank you to all our volunteers this year and everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a memorable one!
