About the event

Hour long online workshop held every 1st Tuesday of the month evening 8-9pm ET

You must be 18 years or older - video will show nude models.

Open to all critique notes only available to members.

Donations accepted via our paypal and a percentage will go towards ASIFA-South's annual donations to Croquis Cafe for providing their resources.

We will be using various timed exercise videos provided by Croquis Café (an online video resource for figure drawing through on air video) https://onairvideo.com/ https://vimeo.com/channels/croquiscafe

Class Schedule:

  • Instruction drawing with a video or images: 8pm-8:20pm
  • Free drawing time with timed Croquis Café video: 8:20pm-8:40pm
  • Critique of students' work (*Optional participation): 8:40pm-9pm (optional)

The course covers line of action, drawing from your shoulder exercises, loose drawing, tools for analog and digital drawing, skeletal structure, surface anatomy, and proportions. Through studying gesture, form, and anatomy, students can master life drawing for human and animal figures. The course is designed to help students become competent draftspeople for animation and develop the tools to draw from their imagination.

When studied over time students can master life drawing for human and animal figures - It is my hope for this class that students will have the first steps of becoming a competent draftsman for animation demystified and give them the tools to succeed in learning how to draw out of their head!
