Roll Yer Own (RYO) is a film festival highlighting local animators in the southeast. In partnership with the Atlanta Film Festival, this festival allows students, professional and independent animators to showcase their work and be considered eligible for screening for ASIFA-Atlanta’s International Animation Day at the High Museum of Art. With over 300 film submissions in 2015, RYO is the longest running event and has been a staple of Atlanta animation for over a decade. If you are a student, independent animator or professional working on a side project in Atlanta, this event was made for you! Selected entries will also be considered for our International Animation Day DVD sent abroad to our partner chapters all over the world. Entry selections range from kid-friendly to adult. There are three competitive categories: BEST IN SHOW, AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD, and this year introducing a new category: ANIMATION FOR ALL that is focused not as much on technical skills as showcasing animation that stands above others in content that in relevant to hi-lighting diversity, humanitarian issues, disabilities and bold content that inspires. The festival will be held at Atlanta’s landmark cinema PLAZA THEATRE on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 7:00PM – 9:30PM
