The only southeastern film festival hosted by the International Animated Film Association

This year marks the 22nd anniversary of ASIFA-South (formerly ASIFA-Atlanta). Starting out as a showcase, over the past 15 years the RYO showcase has expanded into a three-day long festival and conference held August 25 to 27.
If you are a student, independent animator, or professional working on a side project, this event is for you! Selected entries offer diverse perspectives in the form of 2-D, Stop Motion, 3-D and hybrid-mixes to deliver inspiring and thought provoking films. This conference and festival will serve to highlight the magic of animation and its power to bring forth humor, imagination and art.
Selected entries from any program block will also be considered for our International Animation Day, which partner chapters all over the world will share.

The three program blocks are as follows:

Southern Spotlight Showcase: A showcase filled with animated shorts from students, independent animators and professionals in the south US. Only shorts made in the South US region qualifies for this program. Includes Maryland.
Saturday Morning Kid Friendly Block: These are entries that can be enjoyed by families and kids of a young age.
International Block: For our animator friends across borders, oceans, continents, enter your shorts for this block.

This three-day animation conference and festival will also include panels by professional animators in the local industry. Additionally, this year’s jury is made up of talent from studios working here in the southeast. Award nominees will get the chance to have their work scene by industry professionals and a chance to network with them at a private awards brunch.
